Reporting into the Head of the City Operations, this role to lead this strategic initiative will be critical in shaping Uber’s growth trajectory in one of our most important markets.

We are looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial leader with a founder’s mindset. If you are excited about fundamentally re- imagining transportation for the emerging world, impacting the lives of millions of riders in emerging regions, working with and learning from a phenomenal team, engineering, operations, and business leaders, this is the role for you.

You’ll come with a track record of building teams and systems tied directly to the top and bottom line results of the organization, ideally with demonstrated proficiency in discovering and designing processes for scale.

Emotional intelligence and leadership capabilities are a must, as the expectations are high for managing a newly formed team, in a fast paced environment, including a diverse set of stakeholders all over the world.

What You’ll Do

  • This role will require to innovate on operating and economic model to build viable business in all expansion cities
  • Design the proof of concept, deploy it and scale to the rest of the cities
  • Create long-term competitive moats through new modalities and leveraging existing platform synergies
  • Build and develop a high performance team; motivate them to continually achieve higher levels of business impact
  • Work closely with multiple internal cross functional stakeholders to leverage delivery capabilities, articulate insights, align on shared objectives.
  • Provide inputs to the overall business strategy; identifying actionable insights basis advanced data analytics
  • Effectively navigate a matrixed environment with local operations, product, marketing, strategy, finance and other senior leadership.

What You’ll Need

  • This operations-driven role calls for a rare combination of Creativity and Innovation, Problem Solving, Teamwork and Collaboration, Owner’s Mindset & Agility
  • It will require strong interpersonal ability to manage a new team and establish cross-functional collaboration to execute this fast paced project
  • Experience building and leading businesses in India or other relevant emerging markets, including ownership of business performance metrics
  • 9+ years of experience in product, project management, consulting, business development .
  • Experience creating and optimising processes to scale
  • Data-driven decision making mentality and sound business judgment through excellent analytical thinking
  • A high bar across the board – from your own contributions to the

people you work with to the products you work on. * A “driver” personality – constantly pushing toward clarity and delivery while balancing the need for great collaboration.

  • Grittiness. You never hesitate to roll up your sleeves and tackle something hands-on, you persevere when others fall away.
  • Solid understanding of a variety of business models
  • Passion for Uber’s mission and the company’s hybrid technology / operations nature.
  • A never-ending desire to grow and learn.
